The UPSC exam will be conducted in 3 stages – the prelims, main and the interview. The following advice will help you in preparing yourself to face the Civil Services examination with confidence.
If you have been a Best/Top academic performer:
- Find the best mentors
- Set tough daily study goals
- Stay in the positive company always
- Take an off regularly. Allow the mind to collate stuff.
- Set weekly, fortnightly and monthly revision targets
- Read, read, read; Write, write, write; Think, think, think
If you have been an Average/moderate academic performer:
- Start early. Give yourself more time
- Set moderate daily study goals – you won’t break down
- Stay in positive company ALWAYS
- Form a group of at least 3 friends with same goals. Motivate each other
- Take an off regularly. Allow the mind to collate stuff.
- Set fortnightly and monthly revision targets
- Read, read, read; Write, write, write; Think, think, think
If you have not been an academic performer:
- Start very early. Give yourself a lot of preparation time.
- Set easy daily study goals – raise the bar on a monthly basis.
- Stay in positive company ALWAYS. Ask parents for daily motivation.
- Find one good friend who understands you, and can motivate you.
- Take an off regularly. Allow the mind to collate stuff.
- Set monthly revision targets.
- Read, read, read; Write, write, write; Think, think, think.
